The Cedars is seeking an accomplished leader to serve as its Chief Advancement and Board Relations Officer.

As The Cedars approaches its centennial, this is an opportunity to join one of Northern New England’s respected nonprofit organizations and help lead a transformational capital campaign that will strengthen services for older adults and position The Cedars for its next century of service. This is an onsite position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive development strategy aligned with organizational priorities and growth plans
  • Design a Planned Giving Program
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, endowment, and planned giving prospects
  • Partner with the President and CEO and Board to strengthen donor relationships and expand a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
  • Provide strategic leadership for donor communications and stewardship efforts to ensure impactful engagement
  • Represent the organization at community and donor events to enhance visibility and engagement

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or CFRE certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, preferably within healthcare, older adult services, or nonprofit sectors with an emphasis on Planned Giving, Major Gifts, and Capital Campaigns
  • Demonstrated ability to close Major Gifts and secure complex Planned Gifts. Proven track record of managing successful fundraising campaigns
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and strategic planning skills
  • Experience working closely with governing boards and volunteer leaders
  • Familiarity and understanding of Jewish Philanthropy community including relationship-building grounded in shared values and a genuine commitment to the mission.

Compensation & Benefits
